Facials
What skincare lines does Skindelush carry?
Skindelush carries Face Reality, Skinscript, and Christine Valmy

How often should I come in for a facial?
The general rule of thumb for facials is to get one, once a month. This is most optimal as most people have a skin life cycle of 28 days so a monthly facial will help exfoliate dead skin cells and maintain radiant skin.

How should I prepare in advance for a facial?
Most times there is nothing in particular that you need to do in order to prepare for a facial, however, if you are receiving a facial that uses more abrasive physical or chemical exfoliation, you should avoid exfoliating at home (with Retin-A, or other exfoliants for at least three days before your scheduled appointment.)

Waxing
How long should I wait between waxing treatments?
Usually, you should aim to wait three to five weeks depending on how quickly the hair grows.
How long does the hair have to be?
The hair must be at least 1/4 of an inch long in order to be long enough to grab with the wax. This is comparable to the length of a sprinkle or a grain of rice.
What should you avoid after a fresh wax?
Avoid having sex for at least 48 hours. Avoid hot baths/showers, saunas, and excessively hot environments for at least 48 hours. Avoid physical and chemical exfoliants for at least 72 hours. Avoid intense workouts right after a wax. Avoid artificial fragrances, colored soaps, lotions, sprays, and tanning for at least 48 hours.
What can I do prior to waxing to prevent pain or discomfort?
Always wait for the ideal hair length because if it's shorter than a 1/4 of an inch, the wax won't be able to grip the hair completly which will make the session more painful and less effective. Keep us with exfoliating to help draw out ingrown hairs for an easier wax session. Avoid using prescription retinoids/retinol prior to waxing (at least a week) as it will make the skin more sensitive and lead to post-wax irritation. If you would like to prevent pain, take ibuprofen around 30 minutes before your appointment, it'll help decrease inflammation while easing the pain. (P.S. just try to relax, the more relaxed you are the better!)

What type of wax do we use?
We use hard wax!

Can I a get a wax during menstruation?
Yes, you can be waxed while menstruating, however, in order for us to perform the service, you must be using a tampon or menstrual cup instead since intimate waxes require you to remove underwear so a pad won’t be able to give you protection. Although many clients, find that waxing is more painful during this time of the month.
Does waxing hurt?
As waxing does involve hair being pulled from the root, it will hurt more than just shaving it off. The first time getting waxed in any area will hurt the most and does get less painful each time after because the hair regrows thinner and weaker making it easier to pull off. Overall, everyone’s pain tolerance is different though so the pain will vary from person to person.
